StiqNote vs Jam

Jam is a bug capture tool for developers. One click records a video or screenshot of a bug, with the console, network requests and device details, and sends it to your tracker. It's fast, generous on its free plan, and popular with engineering teams.

StiqNote is built for a different moment: reviewing a website together. Comments are pinned to the element on the live page, where your team and your clients see and answer them. On Pro, reports bring logs and a replay too.

Here's how they compare on 6 October 2026. Jam's details come from its own pricing page and docs, listed at the bottom.

Choose Jam if…

  • You mainly file bugs, one at a time. Jam's capture flow is quick, and every bug becomes a shareable recording with logs.
  • You want logs on a free plan. Jam includes console and network logs on Free. On StiqNote they're on Pro.
  • You record long videos. Jam records up to 15 minutes on Team (30 on its Mac app). StiqNote records up to 5.
  • You want backend logs or AI repro steps. Jam Team adds backend logging, and writes titles, repro steps and summaries with AI.
  • You need a Mac or iOS app. Jam has both.
  • Customers report bugs to you. Jam's Recording Links let customers record a bug with no install and no account.

Choose StiqNote if…

  • You review websites, not just file bugs. In StiqNote every note is a pin on the element, and the whole team sees them on the page. Jam doesn't pin comments on the live site.
  • You work with clients. StiqNote has guest links, private notes your clients never see, client sign-off with review rounds (Agency) and your own branding (Agency).
  • Your designers and writers give feedback too. Areas, comments on selected text and Suggest an edit (text, colour and spacing, with the CSS) are made for design and content feedback.
  • You want status synced back. When an issue closes in GitHub, Linear, Jira or Asana, the StiqNote thread resolves. We didn't find two-way status sync in Jam's docs.
  • You pay per team. StiqNote Pro covers 5 people for $29 a month, and 10 for $59. Jam Team is $14 per creator a month, billed yearly: $140 for 10 creators.

Price by team size

Per month, in US dollars, excluding tax. Monthly billing first, yearly billing in brackets. For each team size we show two prices:

  • List price: the cheapest plan that fits that many people.
  • Like for like: the cheapest plan that fits and has what StiqNote Pro includes: console and network logs or a session replay, Jira or Linear, and private comments.

Jam shows only a yearly price for Team, so its column is yearly. Jam charges for creators only; viewers are free and can comment. We assumed everyone on the team records bugs.

Team StiqNote (monthly, yearly in brackets) Jam (yearly)
3 people List price Free $0 Free $0 (30 Jams a month), or Team $42
Like for like Pro $29 ($24) Free has logs, replay, Jira and Linear, but no private comments
5 people List price Pro $29 ($24) Free $0 (30 Jams a month), or Team $70
Like for like Pro $29 ($24) Free, as above; no private comments
10 people List price Pro with 5 extra: $59 ($49) Team $140
Like for like Pro with 5 extra: $59 ($49) Team $140; no private comments
20 people List price Agency $69 ($55) Team $280
Like for like Agency $69 ($55) Team $280; no private comments

With StiqNote Agency's client features (your branding and client sign-off): not available on Jam at any price.

Jam Free has 5 creator seats and 30 Jams a month. Team is $14 per creator a month, billed yearly.

In short: if 5 or fewer people record bugs and 30 Jams a month is enough, Jam Free costs nothing and StiqNote doesn't beat it. For bigger teams, or for reviewing sites with clients, StiqNote costs less: $59 against $140 at 10 people.

How to switch

Many teams don't switch; they use both. Jam for quick bug captures during development, StiqNote for reviewing pages with designers, writers and clients. If you do move:

  1. Connect your tracker in StiqNote, so new reports land where Jam sent them.

  2. Turn on logs and replay (on by default on Pro) so reports bring the same context.

  3. Your old Jams stay in Jam and in the issues they created.

Questions

Does StiqNote record bugs like Jam?

Partly. On Pro, a StiqNote report brings the console, network requests and a replay of the last 3 minutes (longer than Jam's 2-minute Instant Replay), and you can record the tab for up to 5 minutes. It doesn't have Jam's backend logs or AI repro steps.

Which is better for client feedback?

StiqNote. Guest links, pinned comments, private notes, approvals and branding are built for reviewing a site with a client.
