StiqNote vs ruttl
ruttl is a review tool for websites, web apps, mobile apps, PDFs and images. Clients comment through a share link with no login, and its edit mode lets designers change CSS and content right on the page. It's priced per user.
StiqNote is a Chrome extension for reviewing websites, with pins that stay on the element, bug reports with logs and a replay, and one price per team.
Here's how they compare on 30 September 2026. ruttl's details come from its own pricing, feature and support pages, listed at the bottom.
Choose ruttl if…
- You review more than websites. ruttl handles PDFs, images, web apps (through a script) and native mobile apps (through an SDK). StiqNote only does web pages.
- You want versions and device sizes. ruttl keeps page versions (Pro) and shows many device sizes. StiqNote records the size each comment was made at, but has no device preview.
- You want single sign-on without an Enterprise deal. ruttl has SAML on its Business plan. StiqNote has no SSO.
- You work alone. One ruttl Pro seat ($18 a month, $15 yearly) costs less than StiqNote Pro. (StiqNote Free may still cover you.)
Choose StiqNote if…
- Your team is growing. ruttl Pro is $18 per user a month. StiqNote is priced per team: at 10 people, $59 against $180.
- You fix bugs from the feedback. StiqNote Pro attaches console errors, network requests and a replay of the last 3 minutes. We didn't find these on ruttl's current product pages.
- You work in GitHub or Linear. StiqNote sends threads there with status and comments synced both ways, plus Jira, Asana, ClickUp, Trello, Notion, Slack and webhooks. ruttl lists Jira, Asana, Trello, Slack, ClickUp and Zapier; we didn't find GitHub, Linear or webhooks.
- You want a public API. StiqNote has an API, a CLI and an MCP server. ruttl has an MCP server; we didn't find a documented API.
- You want your brand without an Enterprise deal. StiqNote Agency has your logo, colour and name for clients. ruttl offers white-label and a custom domain as a separate Enterprise offer.
- You want to record your screen. StiqNote records the tab with your voice, up to 5 minutes. On ruttl, you upload recordings.
Live edits: both have them
This is where the two are closest. ruttl's edit mode and StiqNote's Suggest an edit both let you change text and CSS on the live page. In StiqNote, each suggestion is saved as a comment with before and after screenshots and a Copy CSS button, and an AI agent can fetch it as a patch through the MCP server. ruttl's edit mode is on its paid plan; free accounts get it for two days. StiqNote's is on Pro.

| Team | StiqNote | ruttl |
|---|---|---|
| 10 people | Agency $69 ($55) | Branding is a separate Enterprise offer, at a custom price. Pages can be marked approved |
| 20 people | Agency $69 ($55) | Same as above |
ruttl Pro is $18 per user a month, or $15 on yearly billing. We assumed every ruttl user is billed; its page doesn't say whether the admin counts as a paid seat. ruttl's free Basic plan allows up to 5 users, but only 1 project, 5 pages and 10 comments, so we didn't count it for a working team. Refunds differ too: ruttl refunds annual plans within 7 days and doesn't refund monthly plans. StiqNote refunds any first payment in full within 14 days.
In short: StiqNote costs less from 2 people up, and the gap grows with the team: $59 against $180 at 10 people.
How to switch
There's no importer from ruttl. What works:
Finish open projects in ruttl, and start new ones in StiqNote.
Add StiqNote to Chrome for your team, and connect your tracker.
Send clients a guest link. It works like ruttl's share link: no login, any browser.
