Suggest an edit

Updated 7 October 2026

Suggest an edit turns feedback into a change your team can act on. Pick something on the page, adjust it the way you want it to look, and send the before and after as a comment.

Suggest an edit is on Pro and Agency. Guests can't use it.

#Pick what to change

  1. Open the sidebar, click the dock's Suggest an edit button, or press Shift+S.
  2. Click the element you want to change. The path above it shows its parents; click a step to pick one of those instead, for example the whole card around some text.
  3. Click Use this element.

#The six groups

Each group opens into its own row of controls. A count badge shows how many changes are in it.

  • Text: rewrite the words. Shown as what was added and removed.
  • Colours: text colour, background, and how see-through something is.
  • Font and size: font, size, weight, letter spacing, line height, align.
  • Space and size: gap, width, height, margin and padding. On a flex or grid container, also how it distributes and aligns its contents.
  • Border and shadow: border lines, corner radius, shadow.
  • Remove it: suggest taking the element off the page.

Changed values are marked. Click the reset icon next to one to undo just that change.

#Review and post

  1. Click Next: review. Every change shows as before → after. Preview on the page (on by default) shows it applied on the real page; switch it off to see the page as it was.
  2. Add a note explaining why, if there's anything to say. It's optional.
  3. Click Post suggestion.

A screenshot of the page before and after is attached automatically. No browser details, console logs or replay go with a suggestion.

#How the team sees it

A suggestion shows as a comment with a before/after slider, your note, and every change with its old and new value. From there, the team can:

  • Preview on page (or Preview anyway, if the page changed since) to see it applied, without changing anything.
  • Copy CSS to paste the properties straight into code.
  • Resolve the thread, which marks the suggestion Applied.

#Change your own suggestion

Open its ••• menu and click Edit. This reopens Suggest an edit on the same element with your changes, instead of the plain text editor.

#Questions

Can guests suggest edits?

No. Suggest an edit is for team members, on Pro and Agency.

Does posting a suggestion change the live page?

No. A suggestion is feedback. Someone on your team applies it in the code, then resolves the thread.

Why don't I see all six groups?

Text only shows on an element that has text to change, and a few controls only apply to some elements, like Distribute and Align items on a flex or grid container.
