Hide StiqNote, and quiet sites

Updated 17 October 2026

#Hide StiqNote on a page or site

  1. Click the StiqNote icon in Chrome's toolbar.
  2. Choose Hide page or Hide site.

StiqNote disappears there, and the toolbar icon turns grey. Choose On to show it again.

#See and undo hidden sites

Open the sidebar, then Settings → Advanced. Under Hidden sites, click Show again next to any site or page.

#Quiet sites

StiqNote starts hidden on sites where nobody reviews a website: email, chat, social media, video, AI assistants, shops, banking-style apps and payment pages. There, it doesn't load at all and sends nothing, not even the page's address.

To use it on one of these sites anyway, click the StiqNote icon and choose Show on this site.

If your team already has comments on a quiet site, StiqNote shows there on its own.

Session replay never records on a quiet site, even if you show StiqNote there or your team has comments on it.

#Hide just the toolbar

Press Shift+F to hide or show the StiqNote toolbar on the page, or click the dots at the top of the toolbar for the same choice, plus Hide on this page and Hide on this site — right-click the toolbar works too. You can also drag the toolbar to the window's edge and let go to tuck it away the same way. Or switch Show the toolbar off in Settings → Appearance. Your shortcuts still work while it's hidden, and a small tab stays at the edge of the window — click it to bring the toolbar back.

In Settings → Appearance you can also pick which side the toolbar sits on, the theme (light, dark or auto) and the pin colour.

#Where StiqNote never runs

Chrome doesn't let extensions run on its own pages (like chrome:// pages) or in the Chrome Web Store. The icon is grey there.
