Export comments to a spreadsheet

Updated 30 September 2026

You can download comments as a CSV file and open it in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets: for a report, an invoice, or a client who won't use the extension. Export is on every plan, Free included. It's your data.

Owners and members can export. Guests can't.

#A whole site

  1. Open the sidebar and go to Pages.
  2. Click ⋯ next to the site.
  3. Click Export comments (CSV). The number beside it is how many comments the file will hold.

The file has every comment on the site: all its pages, every status, resolved ones too. It's called stiqnote-<site>-<date>.csv.

#Only what you filtered

  1. On Comments, set the filters, the search or All / For you / Unread the way you want.
  2. Open Filter and click Export these … comments. The number is how many the list shows.

The file holds exactly the list you see on this page, in the same order, including groups you folded away (like Resolved). Its name ends in -filtered.

A big export shows its progress. Keep the panel open until it's done, or click Cancel. The file goes to your usual downloads folder.

#What's in the file

One row per comment. Replies go in one cell, one per line, as "Name: text", so the sheet stays one row per issue.

type Bug, Idea, Question, Warning, Copy edit, Suggestion, or empty for a plain comment

private yes for a private note

Private notes are in the file A member's export includes private notes, marked yes in the private column. Remove those rows before you send the file to a client.

#Questions

Why does a cell start with an apostrophe?

Text that starts with =, +, - or @ could run as a formula in a spreadsheet. StiqNote puts an apostrophe in front of it so it stays plain text.

Accents look wrong in Excel

The file is UTF-8 and tells Excel so. If you open it through Data → From Text, pick UTF-8 as the file origin.
