Private notes

Updated 30 September 2026

A private note is a comment only your team's members can see. Use it to talk about a client's request next to it, flag something internal, or leave notes for the developer.

Private notes are on every plan, Free included.

#Make a comment private

While writing, click the Team only switch under the text box. The comment is marked Private: guests can't see this.

Replies inside a private thread are private too.

#Who sees what

  • Members see every private note.
  • Guests never see them: not on the page, not in live updates, not in the Inbox or in emails.
  • Private notes are never sent to Slack, webhooks, the API or the MCP server, and never sent to issue trackers on their own. If you send a private thread to a tracker by hand, StiqNote warns you first.

#A private reply on a public thread

You can also reply privately in a thread your client started. They see the thread and the public replies; your team sees everything.
