Reviewing on a phone through the guest link
Guests can open a guest link on a phone, with nothing to install. The page switches to a simpler layout for a small screen.
#What it looks like
A bar sits on the bottom edge of the screen:
- Reviewing
, with the page's comment count, and a Comment button. - Tapping Comment switches to comment mode: the bar shows Comment mode and Cancel, with a hint pill showing how to place a pin.
- With an open review round to answer (Agency), the bar shows the round instead, with Comment, Changes and Approve.
The comment form and an open thread open as sheets from the bottom of the screen, which move out of the way of the keyboard. Tapping the page scrolls the new pin into view, and opening a thread scrolls its pin above the sheet.
#What's different from desktop
- Point comments only. No areas, no comments on selected text, and no Suggest an edit. Tap where you mean, and write the note.
- A plain screenshot. The camera button attaches a screenshot as it is, with no markup tool.
- No screen recording.
- Thread actions (reply, react, more) are always visible, since there's no hover on a phone.
Everything else works as it does on desktop: replies, @mentions, statuses, and the guest's own page list (All your feedback on this site), which shows every open and done item across the site.
#If something looks cut off
Make sure you're using a recent version of your phone's browser. The layout is built for Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android; if a sheet or the keyboard overlaps oddly, reloading the page usually fixes it. You can always ask whoever sent the link to send you a normal computer link instead.
#Questions
Do I need to install anything?
No. A guest link works in your phone's own browser. There's no app and no extension to add.
Can I review a staging site behind a login on my phone?
Not through the guest link; it only shows public pages (see troubleshooting). StiqNote's extension is for desktop Chrome, Edge and Brave, so a password-protected site needs to be reviewed from a computer instead.
